- $25 - Participate in the “Golden Shoe Award” by walking one mile in women’s shoes

Awards:
Rally and presentation of awards will begin at 9:45 a.m. Speaker: Shane Hendron (Domestic Violence from a man’s point of view)
Awards will be presented to:
- Top overall male and female finishers
- Top 3 overall male and female finishers in the following age divisions:
Under 14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-69, 70+
- Awards for Individual and Team Fundraising
- Golden Shoe Awards
Race results will be available at www.racetime.info and www.cararuns.org
Course:
- The course is USATF Certified #IL-07080-JW. The race begins at Sherman & Prince Streets at Downers Grove North High School
- Everyone will enjoy this 5K race as it travels through the Downers Grove Neighborhood. The majority of the course is through the streets with a few hills as you travel through three blocks of bike paths
- Professionally timed by: RACE TIME
- All miles will be accurately marked
- Split times will be given at mile one and two
- Water will be provided at the start, finish and
through-out the course
- 5K Walk (non competitive)
- Parking lots east and west of Downers Grove North High School
Race Day Registration & Packet Pick-Up:
Race Day-Sunday, October 4, from 6:30-7:30 am at Downers Grove North High School, by the schools track at Sherman & Prince.
*For safety reasons all runners with baby joggers must start behind the other runners. Bikes, skates, any other wheeled vehicles, and dogs are prohibited in the race
Join us in taking steps to help victims of domestic violence. Family Shelter Service is holding our third annual 5K Run/Walk. You can help Family Shelter Service by walking or running in our event, providing sponsorship, giving a donation of money/supplies, or volunteering your time.
For those brave men willing to literally walk a mile in her shoes, the event features the Golden Shoe Award, given to any man who agrees to walk one mile of the course in women's shoes. For those guys whose feet do not match their good intentions, their own shoes will be returned to them at the 1/4 mile mark for a mere $10 donation.
