Prevention Program

As part of our promise, the prevention team raises awareness and provides education that engages the entire community in creating a culture where violence is not tolerated.

Our prevention educators have designed comprehensive, age-appropriate, curriculum that addresses healthy and unhealthy relationships.

Grades 7 & 8

Healthy Relationships Compatible Curriculum
3-5 day interactive curriculum
40-45 Minute SessionsTopics covered may include: healthy relationships, decision making, setting boundaries, consent
Interactive activities include: small group work, individual desk work, large class discussion, role play, video clips
  • Included topics are limited by number of days in program

Grades 9 & 10

Teen Dating Violence Compatible Curriculum
2-4 day interactive curriculum
40-50 Minute SessionsTopics covered may include: dating violence, identifying abusive relationships, recognizing signs, consent/ sexual assault, how to help a friend
*Special topics of sexual coercion, online & social media safety and influence of pop culture only offered in the 4 & 5 day curriculum.
Interactive activities include: small group work, individual desk work, large class discussion, video

Dynamics of domestic violence
1-3 hour session

Ideal for college age adults, classroom setting, student clubs or groups.
Ideal Majors: Criminal Justice, Human Services, Counseling, Sociology, Education, Public Health, Health Care, Social Work etc.

Topics covered may include: dynamics of abusive relationships, recognizing the signs, ways to help, career choices in the field, community resources.

4-6 week interactive curriculum
45-60 Minute Sessions

Ideal for middle & high school students
Topics covered may include: healthy relationships, decision making, setting boundaries, consent, teen dating violence, bystander intervention

Domestic Violence Awareness
45-90 minutes

Ideal for adults, youth groups, clergy

Adult topics may include: domestic violence prevalence, identifying abusive relationships, ways to get help, community resources, faith based approach to domestic violence

Youth topics may include: healthy relationships, decision making, setting boundaries, consent, teen dating violence
