Many victim/survivors of domestic violence have connections to local faith communities in the area. On Wednesday, October 3, Family Shelter Service connected with parish nurses from around the county at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glen Ellyn. The presentation provided a short introduction to the realities of domestic violence in our communities and local congregations. Questions like, “What is abuse? How can we help?” and “How can we refer people to Family Shelter Service programs?” were some of the topics discussed. If you are interested in connecting your faith community to Family Shelter Service, contact Lindsay Mack at email@example.com for more information.
